Google decided to suspend all projects for April Fools' Day due to the coronavirus epidemic. This was reported by Business Insider with reference to the leaked letter sent to the employees of the company.

Usually, Google prepares some fools and comic news for this day, and also adds interesting Easter eggs to the search.

Now, when people rely on Google as a source of information about the coronavirus, the company believes that such jokes are inappropriate.

“Our highest goal right now is to be helpful to people, so let’s save the joke the jokes for next April, which will undoubtedly be a whole lot brighter than this one. We have already stopped any centralized preparation projects by April 1, but we understand that teams can have their own projects that we don’t know about. Please discuss these plans and make sure your teams stop any jokes they might have planned,” reports Lorraine Twohill, Google’s Head of Marketing.
